Pamela J. Kirk

Pamela J. Kirk is currently serving as a Research Professional at Oklahoma State University. In this role, she oversees a Career Academy for enhancing the knowledge and skills of working adults.

Formerly, Pam served as the National Career Clusters Director on behalf of the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc). In this capacity, she was responsible for directing the States’ Career Clusters Initiative including development of products and services, marketing, development and maintenance of knowledge and skills, conducting the national Career Clusters Institute, conducting workshops/presentations, coordinating the Cluster Leader and National Advisory Committee network, coordinating federal grant projects (including the development of sample Plans of Study) and serving as staff liaison to the Career Clusters Task Force and National Career Technical Education Foundation and NASDCTEc Boards.

Pam also served as a Research Specialist, Training Coordinator, Workforce Development Specialist and Testing Specialist at the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education. Responsibilities included research on innovative programming, development, and evaluation activities addressing local and state initiatives in career technical education; development of statewide training and certification systems for incumbent workers; coordination of rapid-response, construction craft training project Skills to Rebuild; and development of a national construction industry training and certification system for the Associated General Contractors of America. She began her career as a secondary science and mathematics classroom teacher.

Pam’s accomplishments include two Governor’s Commendations for the Skills to Rebuild project and the Career Clusters Initiative. The Skills to Rebuild project also won the National Phoenix Award from the United States Small Business Administration. She was also certified as an Advanced Certification Administrator. She has published in trade journals and co-authored two texts: Career Clusters Tour Guide – Module I: Introduction and Module II: Implementation.
